Here are some steps you can follow to fix errors you see when attempting to access electronic resources in library databases.

Does the link say ezproxy? Are you receiving a "503" error?

You have found an outdated link!

  • If you found this link in your course materials, let your educator know. You can search for a fixed link in the library catalogue.
    • We are also happy to help you find the resource if you are having trouble. Please get in touch with as much information about the resource as possible.
  • If you found this link on a library webpage, please let us know so we can fix it for you. Please provide as much detail as possible, including the exact page where you found the link, and any additional information about the resource.

Are you receiving an IP address error from Ebook Central?

Try closing the tab and clicking the link again. If issues persist, try the steps below.

Have you attempted to use a different browser?

Some internet browsers are more stable than others when accessing library resources.

Our users often have difficulty with Google Chrome in particular. We have a list of alternative browsers on our Useful Software page. We usually have success with Microsoft Edge and Firefox.

Have you tried to clear your cache and cookies or used a private browser window?

Sometimes internet browsers save your data in unhelpful ways. Most browsers provide the ability to open a private window without that saved data. You can also clear your cache and cookies.
