In August 2021 the library began a trial of the ‘PDF via Unpaywall’ service in MultiSearch.
Unpaywall harvests open access (OA) journal articles by searching DOIs in over 50,000 OA repositories. Many of these OA articles will be available for immediate download from the ‘PDF via Unpaywall’ link in MultiSearch.
You may still see a link to full-text articles in library databases in the View Online section of MultiSearch records. Library database links provide access to full published versions of articles, Unpaywall will sometimes provide the link to preprint or archived material. Given the option, it is preferable to access and refer to the published article.
Unpaywall can also be added to your browser as an extension to enable content access while searching the Web: https://unpaywall.org/products/extension
